Cedar Mill Farms will be reopening in early 2017 as a vegetable farm and is a possible log storage location as well.

The governor's emergency proclamation calls for the California Public Utilities Commission to use its authority to extend contracts for existing forest bioenergy facilities receiving feedstock from high hazard zones and ensure that contracts for new forest bioenergy facilities receiving feedstock from high hazard zones can be executed within six months, including initiation of a targeted Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM).
Storage/Wood Sort Yard The Amador County Tree Mortality Task Force has a committee dedicated to identifying potential sites to be utilized as a storage location and sort yard for the wood from the dead tree removal. Log and Burl Buying Far West, a wood salvaging organization, is interested in purchasing logs. Even if the tree is of low value they may be able to help convert it to lower grade lumber. Learn more here.
